Privacy Policy

Faro ("we", "our", or "the App") is a Shopify application that provides an operations overview for Shopify merchants. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information obtained through our App.

By installing or using Faro, you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy.

When you install and use Faro, we access the following data from your Shopify store via the Shopify API:

• Store information — your shop domain and installed scopes
• Products — titles, variants, inventory quantities, prices, images, and publication status
• Orders — order totals, creation dates, financial status, and associated line items

We do not request customer profile access. We do not intentionally collect payment card details, passwords, or customer contact information.

We use the information collected to:

• Calculate your store status and key operational indicators
• Detect operational facts using deterministic store signals
• Generate and validate recommended actions based on products, inventory, and paid order signals
• Display operational dashboards within the App
• Measure the impact of completed actions when Shopify data makes that measurement defensible
• Improve the App's functionality and performance

We do not sell, rent, or share your store data with third parties for marketing purposes.

We use the following third-party services to operate the App:

• Railway PostgreSQL — our database provider, used to store your store configuration, generated insights, and usage counters within Railway's managed database environment.
• Railway — our hosting infrastructure. Your data is processed and stored within Railway's secure environment.
• Anthropic — used to generate selected recommended actions from store signals. We send only the operational inputs needed for the recommendation, such as product titles, inventory facts, and aggregated paid order signals. We do not send payment card details, passwords, or customer contact information.
• Shopify — all Shopify API usage is governed by the Shopify Privacy Policy.

We retain your store data for as long as the App is installed on your Shopify store. Active recommended actions are cached for up to 24 hours. Historical action completion, impact measurement, notification, and metric snapshot records are retained while the App remains installed so the App can show action history and measured impact.

When you uninstall the App, we receive a webhook notification and delete data associated with your store, including sessions, insights, facts, metric snapshots, notifications, action completions, and impact measurements.

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS), secure credential storage, and access controls. However, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

You have the right to:

• Request a copy of the data we hold about your store
• Request deletion of your store's data at any time by contacting us
• Uninstall the App at any time, which will trigger data deletion as described in Section 5

Faro does not use cookies for tracking or advertising purposes. Session management is handled by Shopify's embedded app infrastructure.

The App is intended for use by merchants operating Shopify stores. It is not directed at children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from children.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
